Awards of the Year

26th of January 1994 Mr. Dmitri Demjanov proposed to the board of EHRL to start issuing “The Tourism Company of the Year” award. On the 30th of March 1994 at members’ general assemby, award’s statute was confirmed.

First company who won the award “The Tourism Company of the Year” in 1994 was Estravel.
“The Tourism Company of the Year 1995” was given again to Estravel.

26th of November 1996 the award “The Tourism Company of the Year” was changed to “The best of the Year” annual award. According to the statute the award is given to a company or individual who acts in Estonia and who has promoted the hotel and restaurant sector of helped uplift the reputation of the industry or contributed other relevant way. Members of EHRA will select the candidates and choose the best. The award will be given out in two categories: contribution overall Estonia (republican) and contribution regional/local level. Award nominates selection is not limited by field of activity, it can be a member of EHRA as well.

Criteria’s, which must be met, by nominees of the award “The best of the Year”:

  • Long-term significant contribution for hotel and restaurant industry in Estonia of district/region level;
  • Excellent work and significant relations with Estonian hotels and restaurants – members of EHRL, contribution to hotels and restaurants sector, supporting the sector’s reputation;
  • Organizing events that have helped the entire industry and increased image;
  • Novelty and originality for solving problems and due good work helped to boost custom service at hotels and restaurants.

Procedure:

  • Each EHRL member can present 1 or 2 candidates for the annual award competition latest by the 4th of March 2020, Estonia and regional/local level apart. Please give brief reference why do you support the candidate.
  • EHRL´s Board will decide and select 3 candidates for the Estonia level and 3 for the regional/local level. The Board members can also suggest their own candidates.
  • EHRL´s Board will send the selected candidates in written for all the members to choose. Every member will select one for state level and another for regional/local level.
  • The ones that get the most of the votes will get „The best of the year“ annual award at EHRLs General assembly meeting.

„The best of the year“ award winner  will be honoured by certificate.
